So, what does this actually mean? I don’t know about you, but from my own experiences as well as the people I see, we are continuously circulating our thoughts, analysing our emotions and trying to understand the decisions we make on a daily basis. More often than not trying to make the RIGHT decision. Sometime we find ourselves dwelling in negativity, trapped in our own turmoil, unable to see the options and opportunity before us. Sometimes we become so paralysed by fear and not making the WRONG decision that we forget that there is no right or wrong, just an experience.
Why is this so? Why do we trap ourselves in our own thinking and how can we get off the emotional rollercoaster? Is there ever a time when we become satisfied and happy with the decisions we make and the outcomes we achieve?
Through my own search I have come to realise the power of perception. How what we believe we see, and what we see we create. This is very exciting because it means we actually have the power to enjoy the journey instead of searching for the destination. I mean, what if there was no destination but the destination was right here, right now – would this be satisfactory for you?
If you are the person who says “I will be happy when ....” then you are chasing an elusive dream and will never be truly satisfied or happy. The secret is understanding your perception of your current reality right now – How do you see your journey thus far? Has it been easy or hard? Has it been rewarding or challenging? Has it been worthwhile?
Take a look around your room right now, how many of the things in there do you love? How many things do you look at and they bring you memories of love, warmth, laughter and joy. These were all part of the journey and have led you to this moment here NOW.
Start noticing the good things in your life, the stepping stones you have jumped across to be where you are and the blessings that have fallen upon you as universal rewards for your sheer determination and effort. Start noticing the things you are grateful for and start choosing a life of empowered thinking.
Stop perceiving your difficult circumstances as failings but learning experiences. Stop looking at the closed doors and start looking for the doors that have been opened for you. Open your eyes and open your heart with awareness, reflective thought and curiosity. With each experience and each new decision, we continue to merge our spirit and matter until we reach a point of peace, self acceptance and happiness. At what point you find this along your journey is up to you.... it’s all a matter of perception.
The bottom line is.... Life is a journey, packed with experiences to help our spirit grow. Perceiving this journey as easy or hard is completely up to you. Why not have fun with it, be open, be curious and absorb all the learning you can? Forgive yourself for your mistakes, laugh in the face of challenge and jump at opportunities when they arise. It is this journey that makes us who we are and you have infinite possibilities ahead of you.... enjoy the ride!
